Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF) is a reconstituted wood panel product. It is a dry-processed fiberboard manufactured from wood fibers, as opposed to veneers or particles, and is denser than plywood and particleboard. MDF has an even density throughout and is smooth on both sides.
MDF is reconstituted into sheets and panels in a variety of widths and lengths. Bonding is achieved by the addition of synthetic resin adhesives, which are cured under heat and pressure. Paraffin wax is added to assist with water repellency, while other chemicals can be added during manufacturing for more specific protection.
Advantages of MDF
- MDF is generally cheaper than plywood.
- The surface of MDF is very smooth, and you don't have to worry about knots on the surface.
- Because it's so smooth, it's a great surface for painting
- Also because of its smoothness, MDF is a great substrate for veneer
The name derives from the distinction in densities of fibreboard. Large-scale production of MDF began in the 1980s

Acoustic Ceilings - Mineral Fibre Ceiling boards
BRAND NAME - THAI ACOUSTICS.
A typical dropped ceiling consists of a grid-work of metal channels in the shape of an upside-down "T", suspended on wires from the overhead structure. These channels snap together in a regularly spaced pattern of cells. Each cell is then filled with lightweight ceiling tiles or "panels" which simply drop into the grid. The primary grid types are "Standard 1" (15/16 face), Slimline (9/16" grid), and concealed grid.
In the United States the cell size in the suspension grids is typically either 2 ft × 2 ft the ceiling tiles are the same size. cell size in the suspension grids is 600×600 mm,
Gypsum Vinyl Laminate Ceilings
Ceiling suspension systems are composed of a lattice that is suspended from the ceiling by string or wire. Ceiling tiles are laid upon the lattice. Suspended ceilings are often used in offices and commercial buildings. Different gypsum ceiling tile designs provide different acoustical and aesthetic qualities. They are available in many varieties. The installation of the tiles is not difficult, but the installation of the suspension system is generally performed by professional installers.
